Welcome to this House in the Sky. The musical mothership of Harris Levon McRae & Bets Pott, The co-captains of Starship Skyhouse. Both Bets and Harris are songwriters and multi-instrumentalists playing an interesting mix of musical instruments including guitar, bass, keyboards, piano, banjo, harmonica, and percussion. They have developed a sound that they have coined “Freggae”. It is a combination of Folk Rock/Reggae with all kinds of other things thrown in. Bets and Harris have really embraced the concept of the sound system—a group of DJs and engineers contributing and working together as one, often playing and producing one particular kind of music such as reggae or hip-hop to rock the party. The duo has expanded the concept to include a wide variety of music and many types of musicians. More About Skyhouse Influences: Rock, reggae, electronica, blues, R&B, hip-hop—you never know what type of joint Skyhouse Music will come up with or in what fashion. Betsy and Harris dip into a seemingly bottomless grab bag of musical interests.
Sounds Like: In BIG bowl, with spoon, mix well singer/songwriter acoustic guitars, piano, blues harmonica, bass, keyboards, drums, banjo, and electric guitars. Add R&B, reggae, pop, electronica, and hip-hop beats. Sprinkle with vocals. Shape mixture into ten to twelve songs about five minutes long. Cook in a rock oven with high-high heat!
